Raising awareness of substance use disorders (SUDs) and giving dignity to those afflicted by SUDs is best achieved through education, advocating for policy change, and training individuals, communities and corporations about SUD. To that end we provide programs outlined below. We can customize any program to your needs.
BUSINESS AND CORPORATE SERVICES
Truth Pharm provides an array of services in this ever-changing climate where your employees may be required to interact with or service people who have a Substance Use Disorder (SUD), may be suffering from it themselves, or may be under stress due to a family member’s SUD.
Raising awareness, reducing the stigma and increasing access to services will have a great impact not only on this addiction epidemic, but on your business. Responding appropriately to this epidemic can reduce the stress on your employees and lessen the financial impact your business may face.
MEDICAL STAFF TRAINING
Every hospital and medical provider has the opportunity to have a profound impact on the current addiction epidemic (primarily opioid addiction) by showing a commitment to protect society, educating staff, patients and the public and modeling the appropriate response to individuals presenting with substance use disorder (SUD) with protocols in place to provide assistance.
Truth Pharm provides community training in identifying the signs of a drug overdose and in administering the overdose reversal medication naloxone. In New York State, the training and kits are free. We also offer naloxone training for treatment centers’ staff and/or clientele and for business and corporations.
TRAINING INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES HOW TO MOBILIZE
Any individual or group interested in having its community be proactive and progressive in its approach to the heroin and opioid epidemic often needs help. Truth Pharm helps identify the community’s needs and helps individuals and groups form an effective “Community Action Committee.” We then work with that committee to prepare a series of forums and find ways to bring needed resources to the community.
PAARI THROUGH TRUTH PHARM
Truth Pharm is using the Gloucester Model for enacting the “Police Assisted Addiction and Recovery Initiative” (PAARI) that serves to allow any addicted person to go to the police station and ask for recovery help without fear of arrest.
